Meet Oliver

After all the playing and visiting, Oliver is pooped!

All my niece wanted for her birthday was a puppy. After my sister and her husband mulled it over for a few days, they decided that a puppy would be a good addition to the family. Enter little Oliver. They picked him on Friday, and when Bella got out of school he was waiting for her at home. She was very surprised and they have been inseparable since! The first two nights though have been,as you all out there know with a new puppy, quite tough. When we came for a visit on Sunday, my poor sister was exhausted from listening to little Oliver barking all night long. They are trying to crate train him in the evening, and he really didn't think that is where he wanted to be. My sister has decided to be a little tougher on him and try not to get up in the middle of the night when he starts barking. She was pretty much ready to give the little darling back the very next day, in her sleepy state, saying that the breeder could keep all the money and the puppy. Of course this was the tired version of my sister talking. She has always been very good with animals, as I believe Bella is, so I think they will weather the storm through puppy hood.
How cute is he though huh?! You really can't even believe he is real she so darn little and cute!
Hope everyone is having a great holiday.

  1. Oh, Oliver is sooo sweet! Our dog is 13 but I remember the early days very well, particularly the time he thought it was fun to shred the laundry basket and all of the contents!

  7. Gosh, what a sweetheart. You will remember I got two puppies for Christmas-that's the secret. They keep each other company. Oliver is just a doll-so little & precious. Give him a kiss for me.
Yes, we kiss our animals here! Nerm

  8. Oh my goodness. That last picture is just so beautiful!! I've never had a puppy, but I hope to one day get one... it seems like having a puppy is similar to having a baby, because they require so much attention. I've never had either, of course...but I'm just likening them in my mind :o)

  9. Do keep us posted on little Oliver's progress. I know when we brought Gideon home all I could think was "what a mistake we made." He was a little devil; by the end of the first week I was in tears and couldn't even bear to look at him. But things got better and now I can't imagine life without him. I send encouraging thoughts to your sister!
