Mountain Meadow Baby Dress

This dress was so fun to make and I can just imagine how cute it would be as part of an Easter outfit!

I finally finished this little baby dress, and it is in the shop right now! It would be such a cute little Easter dress.
I went here, to get the vintage eyelet trim for the collar.  The modern eyelet trim I kept running across was not as nicely manufactured as this one was.  These little dresses take such a long time to make, given the tight little sleeve areas!
I used all French seams, except the arm holes and bodice.
This is the last of this darling fabric. I'm sad to see it end, and have not been able to find anything comparable, except of course Liberty, which I do have, and there will be some pieces up soon with it.
To keep with the mountain meadow theme, I used these sweet little natural wood buttons. I think they look real cute against the floral print.
Tomorrow will be cutting day for me, and lining up more things to sew for spring/summer.

Hope your week is going well!

  3. That is beautiful fabric. I love how your clothes look as if they've stepped out of the pages of a vintage fairy tale book.

  4. Elizabeth! This is ridiculously scrumptious. Before commenting, I sent the link of this post to my friend, Kathy. Her granddaughter might not fit into this (I think she is 2 years old), but I thought Kathy should see the quality of your work. You said this was the last of the fabric. It really is a beautiful fabric.
    Love it.

  5. I just went to your shop. Kathy's granddaughter could probably fit into the "Heidi" dress. I will make sure to point it out to her.
All of the outfits in the shop look lovely.

  8. No problem, Elizabeth. Kathy said she loved all the things you have in the shop.

Are you going to try to hunt down more of this fabric? It has got to be somewhere!

  9. @Carolina,

I have hunted high and low for more of both color ways and have 0 luck :( Most are in small "charm packs" Since it is Moda, it tends to be in quilt shops. When you do a search, but then it is all gone once you get to the site. I don't know why they don't make something similar with florals. This print was released in 2010. Only Liberty has the prettiest florals. I bought some gorgeous aqua colored bamboo linen, and I really want to get some of the tana lawn called "Betsy" I think the two paired together would be gorgeous!
