Part two of the Ball gown
Well, the senior ball has come and gone. I really couldn't get a lot of pictures with the digital camera that day, since she was spinning around trying to get ready. Caitlin went with her pal Phoebe. I'm proud of her that she decided not to sit at home and miss her prom because she didn't have a "date." I think it is the case of the pretty girl, I'm biased here, not having a date for the prom. If it were me, I probably would have stayed home. But I think I raised her to be more confident than me, and not worry about silly things like not having a guy take you to your senior prom. She had a great time and the pictures of the San Francisco city hall were very pretty. After the prom, they all got to see the fireworks that were put on for the Black and White Ball that was being held across the street.
We arrived in the city pretty early,so we took the girls to The Ritz for a little something to eat and drink, and also to let her sister, who lives in the city, see her little sister all dolled up. Later, David and I went out for dinner and a movie. I was so exhausted by the whole affair, that I fell asleep in the theater! Not a good thing to do when the movie is Norwegian with subtitles!! Anyway..... She did have a great time and some good memories. I think she was the best dressed, but then again that is my biased opinion:)

She looks absolutely beautiful and how very lucky to be in one of the most beautiful cities in the world!

How wonderful that she went with her friend instead of staying home. She was too pretty to hide her light under a bushel. I'll bet she'll wear that dress again. It's very classic & won't go out of style. Good job, both of you! Nerm
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS! I bet she had a far better time with a friend. And of course she was the best dressed!Well done all around!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is beautiful! It's great that she's so independent and doesn't mind going dateless. Good for her!!! A date isn't a prerequisite for enjoyment. I thought it was ridiculous when I heard on the local news that a high school wasn't allowing singles at their prom. That's just insane. Anyways. I'm sure your daughter was the most elegantly dressed!! Lovely :o)
ReplyDeleteMy mum used to make my frocks too. And we still talk about our favourites. So, not only does she look stunning, but you are both going to be able to share it for years and years...
ReplyDeleteOMG
ReplyDeleteI've just logged onto your blog and first thing I saw was the pictures. gorgeous. I'm speechless and I'm must say I haven't even read the post yet ! your daughter is incredibly beautiful, does she model ( professionnally ) ?

she is so gorgeous, especially in the last photo! girls are so much more independent these days and rightly so. i guess they realize they have more control over their happiness than we did. we can learn a lot from them!
