I'm giving you a sneak peek at what I have been making these past few days. Little yellow pom poms. You will have to check back tomorrow to see what they turn into. What is it about pom poms? I want to make a ton, and then make a gigantic blanket out of them. Wouldn't that be cozy?!
We bought this "Colomba Cake" last weekend on a outing to Berkeley. It is like a brioche with orange rinds, raisins and vanilla I think. Oh, and it is shaped like a dove. Can't wait to open this for Easter breakfast.Hope everyone has all their eggs colored and Easter outfits ready for Sunday :)
A cake wrapped in velvet ribbon. You have sold me. Colomba... what a pretty word. What does it mean? Is it special for easter?
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing what you do with the poms - a blanket of them would be divine!! Something my cats would not give back I don't doubt! I had one of those super soft polyester furry type blankets (originally seen at some lovely shop on Santana Row (Z Gallerie I think), and then later surprise gifted by my sis in law) - and then it turned into the cat blanket. They would not leave it alone!!
The pom poms are soooooooooo cute!!! Italians have a cake like that for Easter. Have you ever tried Panettone?
