Hopefully, very soon, this mess you see above will look a bit different, because I'm making myself go through all those issues of old "Cooking Light" magazines you see on the very top. They have revamped their magazine, and I'm realizing that I'm not going to the old ones that I have above as much, so I will be tossing them and recollecting the newer ones, along with making more room for my "Fine Cooking" issues. You can see how they have spilled onto the floor even, and that is just not right!
I'm debating on getting a small upright cabinet at Ikea, to have more room for some dishes and there would be room for my books as well. I just don't know if it would be enough room for all the cook books though, and so I keep putting it off. I think if I go through these, then I can better tell how much room I need. I had hoped to do go through those magazines this past weekend, but had better things to do. It is on the top of my list though, so it will be done!!
These are not the only magazines I have by the way, there are a few more under the counter, and those are the ones that really need going through. Wish me luck.
I need to check that book out next time I'm in Barnes and Noble. I spent yesterday going through my cookbooks and rearranging them. I've been going through the magazines as well but start hyperventilating when I try to get rid of some. I need a support group!

You've reminded me that I need to sort through my collection of cook books which are currently stashed away in a kitchen cupboard. Then we need to get some bookshelves put up so that they're more accessible. The to do list never gets any shorter!
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't look like a mess at all. I just finished going through the last ten years of Martha Stewart living! You can do it and thanks for the birthday wishes!
ReplyDeleteYou know waiting rooms are a great place to leave unwanted magazines.
ReplyDeleteChildcare centers and schools love them for their pictures(if the teachers let go of them) for the kids to use.
A great way to keep them out of the dump. Good Luck. :)

IKEA to the rescue! How about asking some art teacher at a local college if they could use all those magazines? I keep telling myself "NO MORE COOKBOOKS", but it doesn't work. I am glad to know I am in good company, Elizabeth. When you were in Europe did you get a chance to stop by Jamie Oliver's restaurant called "Fifteen"? I would love to see that. I just got a new cookbook called "Good to the Grain", check it out. Carolina
ReplyDeleteooo look at all those cookbooks! That looks totally organized and nice to me!
