Good bye 2010

Caitlin snapped this picture of me in my usual cozy spot. I have been spending way too much time in this cozy spot these past couple of weeks, and now it will be even harder to stay away from because............
My dear husband bought me this gorgeous blanket that I have been eyeing for some time, and this very nice lap top holder, that fits over the arms of my chair perfectly. At first I laughed when I opened this gift(the lap top holder), but now I'm truly loving it. Although, now it is so cozy in this chair, it is hard to walk past it without sitting and just checking in on a few blogs.
This blanket is made in Norway from a company called Oleana. It is so warm and soft.

My dad and stepmother gave me this boiled wool slippers, and they are equally as warm and cozy. Do you see how hard it is to leave this spot?!
Today I'm making a pear tart to bring to a friends house to celebrate the new year. I poached these yesterday, and now I have to peel myself off this chair to make the actual tart this morning.
I have mixed feelings about starting the new year. I don't know about you, but it seems like this year went by way too fast in some ways, and just when I was wrapping my mind around the fact that it was the holiday season, it ends just like that! I looked through some of the posts I did this past year, and I suppose we did have a pretty nice year. The most notable event being my hip replacement, which I can't believe it will soon be a year anniversary of the surgery. For the most part though it was an even keel year, and some good times. I usually get anxious about the new year, but by the time we are in mid January I forget about everything I was anxious about, and just move on.
I never do resolutions, how about you?
This past year I have had the most fun making new blog friends, and gaining new ideas from other talented people, and I'm looking forward to doing some new things on here soon, that I will disclose at another time.
I wish everyone a very happy 2011!!!!!

  1. I had to do a double take - I thought it was a picture of me. You see, my family would "complain" that I look EXACTLY like you in that picture a bit too often. That is just too bad for them because I too like all my new blog friends, especially you. Happy New Year. Carolina

  2. I don't blame you for not wanting to leave your cozy spot! My blog this year became my journal. I'm thinking about having it turned into a book. Several of my blogging friends have done so and were very pleased with the results. We'll see!

I just met you shortly before your surgery. I really wish I had noted how I met my blog friends. To be honest, I didn't realize how important so many would become to me--you included.

Wishing you a delicious, healthy and happy new year!

    Best,
    Bonnie
