Frosty Outside, Warm Inside

Well, this is as close as we get to any snow here in the Bay Area! Baby it is cold outside, but not anywhere close to all my friends who actually live with snow in the winter. We are so wimpy here in California. These frosty shots are early in the morning, and by noon, the coldest it really gets out is in the mid fifties.  I just thought the frosty tops of all the plants looked magical this morning, kind of like a sugar dusting. The little maple tree is finally naked.
The heater has been on all morning to bring the house to a toasty temp, while I sit here and decided which cookies to make later today. I finally got all the gifts wrapped, and only need to make one mad dash into the city today for one more gift for miss Caitlin! We plan on making it fun and having dinner here. We have been wanting to go to this Swedish restaurant ever since we read about it. I'll report back if it was good or not.
I'm ahead of the game with the wrapping which makes me happy! I'm usually wrapping the day before and don't get to enjoy the visual of them under the tree for very long.
My best intentions these past weeks to get more hats finished did not materialize. I had other fun Christmas things to do, and a special order. They will still be made, because after all, winter has just begun, and in other parts of the world, it stays cold and snows for quite sometime.
I'm off now to gather all the supplies to make some cookies!

What is your favorite Christmas cookie?

  2. I haven't seen actual frost since my childhood - pro (or con!) of living in the tropics!
Your Christmas tree looks divine, all pressied out...enjoy Christmas.
As for baking, well, Christmas cookies are not really an Aussie 'thing'. But I do love to try any new recipes offered...
