Winter Dinners, Spring Projects

We had some dear friends over for dinner this past Saturday, and it was such a nice relaxing evening. I made lamb shanks with mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were from my new cook book that Caitlin and Cyrous got me for Christmas, "The Smitten Kitchen." I have never made mashed potatoes with brown butter and buttermilk, they were very yummy.
Don't you just love winter cooking? All the prepping is so relaxing for me, and then the reward of lovely smells coming from the oven is the small prize for all the work done. I used my favorite recipe for lamb shanks from this cook book.
I'm working on spring items for the shop, and also working on custom orders. These fabrics make me happy. I can't wait to make something with the one above especially.
I had a little of this left over, and I'm making a small peasant blouse with it, since I sold four of my little tops, and I need to replenish the shop with more. I think this one is going to be really sweet.
This fabric is so soft, that it calls for something for a baby. I have a couple of ideas for it.
I'm excited to start cutting and working on new projects, and it is even suppose to rain tomorrow, so this means more cozy time in the sewing room, and maybe a bit of baking.
