Well, this concludes my show and tell of our trip to London. We really enjoyed our time visiting Nicole, and the photo of her standing in the entrance of the B&B, slightly breaks my heart because we hated to say goodbye :( Speaking of the B&B, here are some photos I managed to snap of the place. I really loved our stay there, and the owners of the place were really nice. It was decorated really tasteful and it was SUPER clean. I was jealous of all their beautiful house plants and those gorgeous wide planked floors in your room. Like I said, if you ever find yourself in this neighborhood, I highly recommend this place. The daughter, in the kitchen picture, made the best cooked breakfast, and every morning when we started down the stairs, the lovely smell of toasted bread and other things she was cooking, would hit you. They also had the jams that I bought in the photo above.
I had to snap a shot of our taxi driver that took us to the airport, because he was so friendly and regaled us with many stories about Somalia. He took us back into Kensington to Whole Foods, where I had forgotten that wicker hamper that the jams are in.
The last pics are of my treasures that I bought. I'm excited about my new scissors and fabric the most.
Hope you enjoyed my tour, and I didn't bore you too much :) I gave myself a break this week to get things organized in the house and do all the trip laundry, but on Monday I start to so some cutting and sewing. I'm going to start with some more hats, and hopefully a few little outfits, before all the holiday craziness begins. I'm not going to stress out about filling the shop for the holidays. In a dream world, I would have many pieces sewn already, but reality is that I just can't fit it all in and I'm going to do my best to have some special pieces to offer.

Only just caught up with your posts and enjoyed your view of London. Next time in England come and visit Liverpool and see a bit of the north.
ReplyDeletePerhaps we will take a road trip north :) Farthest north I've been is Scotland and I really loved it. We have also visited Bath and Cornwall area.

ReplyDeleteThose EXACT same scissors are on my wish list ... I have not bought them yet as I feel a bit guilty about the purchase since I have been more focused on painting than sewing. Do they feel as wonderful as they look? You Liberty of London fabrics are delicious. It would be dangerous (VERY) for me to go into that store. Did I miss the name of the beautiful bed & breakfast? I love your photos of the place - especially the window light in the lav. Your trip looks like a beautiful memory for sure. I am glad that Nicole is doing well. My youngest dreams of living in London... perhaps someday I will be doing just like you! Fingers crossed.

DeleteI really liked this place because it was so tastefully decorated and it was very comfortable. The "full English breakfast" was good as well, according to my husband :) I only had yogurt and toast hahahaha. It really was hard to tear myself away from Liberty! Such a gorgeous store!!!!!! I will give a full report on the scissors when I use them this coming week.
Oh that bed and breakfst is beautiful, I especially love the bathroom with its marble and classic fixtures. I too go to Whole Foods daily, but ours is tiny and always packed. Your photos of London have been all but boring. I went to Nicoles blog and saw photos of you looking far to young to be her mother!
ReplyDeleteI really loved the B&B too. The owners were so nice and everything was so nicely kept. I also loved the neighborhood it was in too! Our Whole Foods is average in size, but always over packed and parking a nightmare! Caitlin just went to a brand new one in San Francisco last night and it was pretty incredible, so she is going to that one now. Thanks for the lovely complement as well :)

Lovely and I am always over ambitious. I am envious that you can stay focused on making things for the shop. Making things for myself and my daughter always win over and I wish I could focus more on making things to sell- so hard.
