Laughing until it hurts

Caitlin ordered these Saltwater sandals last week. When she slipped them on, we laughed so hard that I cried all my make up off! I don't know if it translates well in the photos, but these sandals were so large and wide on her foot, that they looked like snow shoes! I have wide feet, and when I tried them on, they were even too big for me.
I think we got the giggles because we have this little thing that we do every May, when Nordstrom's has their half yearly sale. Caitlin and I go to the shoe sale area, and slip on funky shoes that we would never in a million years buy, and laugh ourselves silly. I'm sure we have caused many stares, but it is just too much fun to resist. Anyway, when she slipped these bad boys on, we lost it!!! Needles to say, they have been returned. The funny part was that she only ordered one pair, and they shipped two. Had these fit, that would have been a great score, but alas , they must go back.

  2. How fun to try on goofy shoes together (one more thing I miss about not having a daughter!) :) I've seen those too... don't you wonder who buys them? Oy!

That shot of Caitlin's little feet SWIMMING in those sandal is hilarious. Thank you for a good giggle! xo~m.

P.S. Bon Voyage ~ it's coming up soon, oui?! Have FUN.

  3. wow, those ARE huge!

i had ordered my normal size (6) and when they came they were too big and my feet a little wide too. so i ordered the next size down - a child's 3!!! it's supposed to be a woman's 5 which i rarely wear. but they fit - they are supposed to be snug width-wise, they'll stretch after a bit. i think caitlin should get another pair - they would be so cute on her.

  4. My girls grew up on Salt Waters. But, as you found out, you always have to buy a size smaller. I used to have a pair and wish I didn't get rid of them. I think I'll get a new pair--white to match my 3 year old's new pair.

  5. Oh, by the way, you can wear these in the water. I always throw them in the washer when they get real dirty!

  6. CUTE! HAHA! I have been wanting a pair of saltwater sandals forever but thought you could only get them in children's sizes? Where can you order adult ones?
