This is the Tate St. Ives. Before I begin, I would like to say, that I had such high hopes when I walked through the doors, given how cool it looked on the outside, and all the possibilities of viewing beautiful art in such a stunning location(It faces the ocean). I really hate saying this, but it was a huge disappointment! I will just say that the space was wasted, and it may have been an off time with what they had to display, but it was not good. The only great thing in there, was some of the work of Barbara Hepworth. She is by far my most favorite female sculptor. If you you love her, and ever find yourself visiting this area, skip the museum, and go straight to her home/studio a block or so away. The following pictures are from her home. Read more about her here.
I took this photo in the Tate, and then realized I should probably ask if it was OK. It wasn't, so I only have two shots from the museum that I took without getting noticed, this is one of them.
The following are all her sculptures in her garden. It was so beautiful there, and the house was adorable.
Her studio
We did have a fantastic lunch at the Tate though! This was our sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream dessert.
Tomorrow, we head back to the final destination of our trip...... Paris. I may have to do it in a couple of parts, since we went to Versailles and saw the Petite Trianon and the Grand Trianon. We also went to the little farm as well. So stay tuned.
I love that shot of Barbara Hepworth's studio. What a privilege to be there and to be allowed to photograph. Thanks for sharing.
