Little snippets of Thanksgiving

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I had so much fun making this floral arrangement, and started wondering what it would be like to work in a flower shop, as I was arranging. That has kind of been a fantasy job of mine. When I lived in France, I would love to walk by the flower shops to see the most incredible arrangements. Once, I saw one in a pumpkin, very similar to this one, and it had the most gorgeous flowers and berries in it. I've always wanted to try and recreate it. I couldn't find that many unusual flowers, but I think it turned out rather pretty.

I just love these new napkin rings that I found at Pottery Barn, they say "Friends and Family."
My sous chef. The family was a great help with chopping and cleaning, so my back isn't on fire this morning.
David makes the best cranberry sauce every year. I really love it, as well as my little green friends next to them.
This year I bought a "Heidi Hen," organic turkey. It was very nice, especially the dark meat.
You have to have the annual pose right?!
Time for pie!!!
I made two pumpkin pies, and an apple this year. We are up to our eyeballs in pie right now, as well as plenty of sides and turkey. I have some wonderful "Cooking Light" recipes to use up the turkey, and bring the calories back down. I do have to have that yummy turkey sandwich with cranberries, and stuffing in it.......I know some think it odd to put stuffing in your sandwich, but oh well, I love it!

Home today relaxing and washing up, as well as avoiding all the chaos downtown. There is good shopping in our town, so there are tour buses of people coming through today and I'm sure the rest of the weekend. I think I will stay in and do something creative instead.
Hope everyone had a warm, happy day.

  2. Aww, thanks Dawn. I had so much fun making that arrangement. It has got me hooked into doing more unique ones instead of simple ones in a vase of water.

  6. That centerpiece is wonderful! I have the same napkin rings! I grabbed them up as they were putting them out at Pottery Barn a few weeks ago. They also had some silver flatware that was very nice but I have plenty so let it go.

    Best,

I also do the same thing with my turkey leftover sandwiches, it does sound weird to have stuffing in it but it tastes SOOO amazing!! You have talent and an eye for beauty, the table and flower arrangement are very pretty. Happy belated Thanksgiving...can you believe it is DECEMBER?

Always festive, yet quietly elegant and never 'overdone'. My favorite kind. Your flower arrangement is gorgeous ~ how I love those colors, and they go so well with your linens and candles. *sigh*

Very, very nicely done, my friend!
