Into The Woods

I had a lot of fun making this little tunic top! The fabric is cotton lawn, so it has such a nice feel to it, much like Liberty. It really has a woodland look to it, and I can't wait to make more sizes with other fabrics!
I love putting invisible zippers in. They are so easy compared to the others, and gives such a nice clean look. The pleating in this little top is my favorite.

I have some really cute bloomer pants cut and ready to sew next. They will be the same size as this( 2T), and would look really cute with it, as it is a beautiful plum color. I'm also excited to cut into some wool for a little jacket. I'm finally getting my sewing groove back.

Stay tuned.

  3. That has got to be the most magical fabric I have ever seen. You have an awesome knack for finding just the right fabric for the clothing you make. The top shape works really well with that fabric. The invisible zipper, too, goes well with it because your focus stays on the fabric instead of the "mechanics" of the top. That fabric makes me think of all the enchanted forests in the fairy tales. I love it.

  4. Thanks Carolina! I fell in love with the fabric ages ago, and they have always carried it in the shop I go to in Berkeley. I decided I would just buy it and the inspiration would come later. I really love how this turned out too. I hope some one gets to enjoy it soon :)
