Little Snippets of October

October has been so beautiful here in the Bay Area, that it makes me almost feel guilty to think about the poor east coast people in such a scary situation right now. As I type this it is so sunny and warm out, that our trees haven't fully changed colors, or made the attempt to let go of their leaves. We will be getting some rain I hear, on Halloween, but I'm sure, nothing like what is going on back east.
I really can't believe that October is all but over, and we are moving into the other holidays at such a swift pace!  We had such a nice weekend, with a Halloween dinner, and then Saturday we went here to have an out door celebration, with music, wine and great food.
We also went to see "Argo," which was really good. I highly recommend it, especially if you were old enough to remember the Iran hostage situation back in 1979.
I have also been doing some baking and fun cooking, like making raviolis and carrot cake cupcakes. This new recipe I found from Ellie Krieger is a more healthy version and so good! Caitlin and Cyrous made Coq au vin for our Halloween dinner, and that was super tasty.
Sewing wise, I finished Caitlin's dress, and all I need to do is sew buttons on the front of it, but it is pretty much done, and now I am setting my sights on getting a few things in the shop.

Hope everyone one has a great Halloween week and enjoys the festivities, and for my friends on the east coast, stay safe, and you will be in my thoughts!

  1. I love what you've done with the table--that tablecloth is so cool! Reminds me of something you'd find at the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland (which is a good thing in my book).
