In Case You Didn't Hear.....

When the girls were growing up I use to read "Parents" and "Child" magazines. Do you remember "Child?" Child was a higher end demographic than Parents, but Parents magazine has stood the test of time and is still around, while Child folded up shop. Never in a million years back then, would I have thought that one of my hand crafted garments would show up in Parents magazine! It may never happen again, but it still makes me incredibly happy that it did this time!
If you are friends with me on Facebook and follow my Instagram, then you have probably have already seen the digital version that I downloaded yesterday and posted to those sites.  I was too impatient to wait for the print copy, but if you didn't see it, here is the actual print version, that finally arrived at my local Barnes and Nobel.
I made six capes that are ready to go and are in the shop right now. Two are made with Spoonflower fabric, and I'm charging a little bit more for those, as the cost for the fabric is considerably more than the other that I used.
After I sell out these six, I will then do made to order with other fabric linings. I cannot get anymore of the Japanese Moda fabric anymore, sorry. I did however find some other cute fabrics that are equally as cute, and will be adding a photo of them on Etsy for the made to order capes.
Now I need to get back in my studio to keep working!
Hope to finish the little Liberty top I'm working on very soon, and the little fur vest. Stay tuned!

  2. Congrats! The cape looks gorgeous! And as soon as my daughter is feeling better (she is sick with a yucky cold/allergies/fever), we are heading to the library so I can check-out the October issue of Parents.
