A Little Before and After

This is how Caitlin left the room back in July..........
You can't see all the pin holes that are all over the wall, but we really had to majorly go in and prep and paint the walls before we turned it into a guest room.

Hi there! I'm still recovering from Thanksgiving, and I feel like I'm not quite ready to let go of golden November days with pumpkin flavored everything. I see everyone in blog land and Instagram racing to get their Christmas decor up, and I still have pumpkins on my fireplace hearth and a fall table look still. This weekend we will be getting our tree though and transform the house into Christmas. Good bye lovely fall, until we meet again.

A while back I mentioned that we were working on Caitlin's old room to turn it into a guest room, and that I would show you some before and afters. It has taken a while, and it still is a work in progress, because I want to make it a bit warmer in feeling. The wall that is facing the bed is naked, and I'm not quite sure what I want to do with it yet. Here are some shots of it now though. I also bought two prints from my favorite artist Elsa Mora. I love her work so much! If you go to her website you can get lost in all her wonderful art. What I love about her is her ability to work in so many mediums and produce such magical work.
My own shop news is that I'm going to try and sneak in some items before things get crazy busy here. My most recent items, after the velveteen garments are some Liberty hair bows. So check back for a post on those. I'm hoping to get those in for possible stocking stuffers.
On that note, I better get cracking, so until next time..............

  1. I think we're on the same Christmas decor schedule! Just took down my autumn wreath yesterday...because there's snow, so it was weird! I need to get my butt in gear. xo

  2. Hi, Elizabeth! The room looks beautiful and so inviting. You did a great job. And I'm so excited to be there with a little bit of my art. Thanks a lot for your kind words. Have a wonderful day!

    1. Hi Elsita, as you can see I decided to not gift the second print. They both looked lovely in the room, so I decided to keep both :)

    1. It's pretty funny isn't it to see rooms here versus in the UK and in Europe for that matter. I remember when I lived in France, I would watch a lot of BBC shows on house make overs and getting use to the look of the rooms in the UK. I had a very interesting tour of a museum in London with my daughter, where she showed me how the front windows were sometimes the only light that the homes had and how dark it was in the middle of the day. She told me that her first place in London was so dark that it kind of depressed her a bit. She does miss the brightness of California, and closets in bedrooms :)
