Look at the pretty violet tissue paper, and the cover of the actual book! I'm in LOVE!!!
They gave up some of their recipes for their infamous macarons. In the new year I will attempt these. I love how in the recipe, it tells you that you may not get it right the first time, and there will be some cracks possibly, but not to give up.
How cute it this?!!! I was kind of sad that this was not in the book though. The link I referenced to, was the blog that I found out the information on this book. You will get lost in that blog I tell you!
This was the other recent book I bought, after seeing the pastry chef on Martha Stewart. Her desserts looked wonderful, and the book is beautiful.
Wouldn't all of those be fun to make?! Perhaps this may give you some good ideas for the bakers on your list this year.
I have two other books that I have my eye on that I will share if I acquire them soon ;)
Back to the laundry and wrapping!!
So so pretty! Cook books are just so amazing - especially ones with pastries (and French macaroons!!) I have one book on my Christmas list this year: http://3191ayearofmornings.com/mornings/
ReplyDeleteI bet you would love it too!!
I am the baker, I am also the eater. Hence it would behoove me to try one of your macaroons (with or without cracks) ONLY if I walk from Tennessee to your house to eat them. The Sucre book looks divine. Now that I know it exists my eyes will be scanning for it. Carolina
ReplyDeletei would love the book...it's pretty.i still can't bake though...i haven't the patience to try something a second time if it didn't work the first time...haha
ReplyDeleteso where will your Dad be? Orillia?

Ooh, Laduree macarons! I've had a go at making them and whilst not perfect they weren't as fiddly as I thought they might be.
ReplyDeleteThose look like a fun to look at.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with them!
Melinda
O.M.G.!! a laduree cookbook! oh, lovely! i can't wait until you start experimenting with it - and sharing it here (hopefully). :)
ReplyDeletei'm getting rose macarons tomorrow; they're not laduree but will have to do until my next trip to france!
I'll be anxiously awaiting your review. My husband had done several bakings from Tartine!
ReplyDeleteLove your Christmas decorations.
Best,
Bonnie
These are all lovely books-I just bought the Lauderee book in Paris-I did not know it came in English so there will be some translating that needs to be done. I also love Sarabeth's. I must admit only the French would wrap a book so beautifully.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth,
ReplyDeleteThe Laduree cookbook looks divine! Have you ever visited it in person? I was looking at pictures of the store online recently. Amazing.
Happy Holidays to you and yours.
Nancy
you always find the most elegant and beautiful things. the book looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteThe Religieuse Rose is kind of in there. They give the Choux a la Rose recipe, which is the same . . . except you need to make one normal one and one baby one to go on top. Then you need to find a way to get raspberries to hide in the middle of the big puff. Fun book though, no matter what, right?!
ReplyDeleteouch !!! I almost bought you that one the other day ! (but there wasn't enough pix to my taste so i went for another one that one of my friends who makes macaroons recommended to me !)
ReplyDeleteyum yum !
and... i'm glad you got it in English !!!
ReplyDeleteOh, AMAZING!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe thing about is, you know, crackly macarons taste just as delicious as smooth ones. Yay! Have the Merriest Christmas, Elizabeth!!!!
